Day 02 Manaslu Trek Itinerary

manaslu trek itinerary
Near Machhakhola, it was our lunch camp today
Early morning we all wake up and gather on kitchen table at garden, it was nice morning out there we can see lots of mules passing in front of teahouses loaded with day to day used stuffs on upper region of Manaslu. Me and my friend from Netherland we considered ourselves lucky to be accompanied by Korean Friend as they were again offering some Korean Soup in the morning. He had small stove and butane gas that he used to prepare his packet soup. No doubt it was really delicious in the morning instead of tea. Trail was no so developed as we can see lodge owner herself was preparing our breakfast meals with limited choice of menu. It was dry bread with fired egg and some vegetable curry. After everyone gets ready we start our hike. Soti Khola was not connected by motor able bridge however there is still road ahead of Soti Khola. We are passing through some thin forest line and village from where soon wide road changes into small narrow trekking trail. Yesterday we were together in a group with Korean friend as we were traveling on a bus with same speed but today we vary with each other on stamina and walking pace. We don’t know we had already leave our Korean friend and their crew from Nepal far behind. We were walking very fast without knowingly as when we stop on Machhakhola for lunch everyone were wondering from where we had start our walk in the morning. Answer was jaw dropping as we had start from Soti Khola. It was quite funny there is one teahouse with name of Everest Teahouses instead of Manaslu Teahouses, although it was distinct than other and we choose to go there. After lunch lodge owner were suggesting us to stay in Machhakhola as itinerary will be alter cause we cannot reach Jagat today. We don’t listen to them and move ahead passing through flat terrain toward Jagat and want to see how far we can go. When we reach Khorlabeshi we decide to stop there for night. There are few teahouses on the front right side of trail but we had already bypassed that so we stop on one local people’s house. It was very small house with two big rooms on first floor with three beds on one room and one very small room that can just adjust one small bed. As soon as you enter the room you will find yourself on bed and Paul he decide to stay on tiny small room. Their kitchen was on the ground floor and after getting changed we descend down just walk around the village and return to our home stay. There was no menu and nothing he just ask us to adjust with local Dal Bhat which we agree and ask him for some extra fried egg with meal. I teach my friend to speak very basic word related to meals like can I had this trek, I’m enough, it’s tasty and it was quite interesting to see excited local hearing a foreigner speaking Nepali. I think we were tired of long walk so right after dinner we go off for bed, as there was no television and we had already miss our Korean Friend.
